Lighting the Pascal Candle | A Créole Lent visual Tradition

On Holy Saturday, Samedi Saint, Sanmdi Sen, New Orleans Créoles watch the lighting of the Pascal candle, chandelle de Paschal, shandèl Pascal, at their local Catholic Church. Most of these local Catholic Church are world renowned, the beautiful St. Louis Cathedral, St. Ann Church, and St. Augustine church in Natchitoches for example. A few of us Créoles light the Pascal candle amongst our home visuals customs of Lent season, Saison Carême, Sezon Karèm.
